Ephesians 2:20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone,

The household of God is the church of Jesus Christ and is built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets. If the apostles are part of the foundation, then it is obvious the church does not pre-date the life and times of the apostles. Christ Jesus is the cornerstone of the church and when he told Peter, upon this rock I will build my church, it is clear the church was still in the future. The Old Testament remnant was not in the church even though they were saved by the blood of Christ.
