50) Fulfillment of God’s plan

Ephesians 3:8-10 To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, (9) and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things, (10) so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.

Paul describes his mission as preaching the unsearchable riches of God’s grace to Gentiles. Then he states a purpose of bringing to light the mystery of God’s salvation that has been hidden for ages. This obviously means that Old Testament revelation did not bring this mystery to light to the extent that he was called to do. Paul states that God’s manifold wisdom might now be made known to the rulers in heavenly places through the church. This points to fulfillment through the Church of Jesus Christ of something that was not fully understood or complete in the Old Testament era.
